Animation Station: 20 Years of Art-A-Whirl
20 Years of Art-A-Whirl from Green Jeans Media on Vimeo.
Animator/videomaker John Akre installed the Animation Station at the Northrup King Building during Art-A-Whirl, Friday May 15, 5 to 10 pm, Saturday May 16 noon to 8 pm and Sunday May 17, noon to 5 pm. He created a public-participatory stop motion animated film that celebrates the 20 years of Art-A-Whirl.
It took place in room 245 of the Northrup King Building. It's at the end of the hallway on the second floor, somewhere near the middle of the Northrup King building complex.
The animation happened on the floor, and involved a big enough space that entire people can be in the animation. It waa family-friendly activity.
There were art supplies available so people who came by could create puppets and props that we animated on the floor to show the art, people, and places of Art-A-Whirl over the years.
Here's a look at what we created last year at Art-A-Whirl:

Special thanks go out to Debbie Woodward at the Northrup King Building for making the space available for this activity!
